If I had stayed in Paris just a couple of days longer, my wallet would have been lighter by €46.50 for there is no way that I could resist this super-gorgeous limited edition version of Clarins’ Eau Dynamisante 25th Anniversary bottle that goes on sale at Colette from today! Other parts of the world will get it by July.
I bought my first bottle of Eau Dynamisante at the age of 16 – after convincing my mother that the blend of 14 essential oils and plant extracts, like mandarin, orange, lemon and rosemary, made it a skin soothing treatment (which it also does – really!) and not just a frivolous fragrance. Ever since then, I have always had a bottle on hand for a quick pick-me-up. Late night deadline? Mind-numbingly boring date? Partying till five in the morning? A spritz of this sharp and invigorating aroma has come to my rescue in all these situations and more!
But that’s not the only reason I have spent my last day in Paris being stuck to the windows of Colette. There is more: Clarins has decided to celebrate Eau Dynamisante’s 25th birthday by inviting 25 style leaders (including graffiti artists, sculptors, fashion designers and culinary connoisseurs) to re-visit the iconic bottle in their own style. These 25 collector pieces will be on display at Colette till June 2. Then they will be auctioned off in September, with the proceeds going to the Femmes Dynamisantes Clarins association, which helps underprivileged children.
If I had loads and loads and loads of money (which will clearly not happen in this lifetime), my bid would be for the bottle designed by Pierre Hermé – macaroons and perfume, yippee! Which one would you put your money on?
