Traditional Woes

Classic dilemma: How to pull off traditional clothes without looking like you have just stepped off the boat from a far-off village? Yesterday, the answer was found on my dressing table, in the form of nude makeup colours that toned down the ensemble perfectly. Salvation came in the form of MAC’s Spice lip pencil, used for filling in the entire lip, followed by their Viva Glam V lipstick and lip gloss, bare eyes, with just a flick of bronze eye pencil from Lancome (Crayon Khol in Bronze). Don’t want to go the whole hog – pencil, lipstick, contour – way? I have found Guerlain’s new Rouge G lipstick in Rosy Brown works as the perfect one-stop solution, with saturated colour and gloss in one, fabulously mirrored compact carry-case that’s also perfect for touchups. This plus a little caramel-hued blush and mattified skin will make even the most fabulously over-the-top ethnic garments seem stylish – a lucky save!!

PS: Did you know that one MAC Spice lip pencil is sold every six seconds somewhere in the world??

When I started to skim through your blog I though ‘I’ve got a MAC Spice lip pencil’ – so wasn’t too surprised to read you little PS.
