If you’re anything like me, you know that a beautifully scented home is an absolute must.
And when it comes to the ultimate in scented candles, Diptyque — the French maison that has been accessorizing our homes since 1961 — is right up there in my personal universe.
So, let me share the 16 best Diptyque candles you absolutely NEED in your life.
From the classic Baies to the captivating 34 Boulevard Saint Germain, these iconic jars, with their softly flickering flames, will have your home smelling divine in no time.
PS: This is NOT a sponsored post. I am simply talking about my true loves, wholly unfiltered and in no particular order.
Diptyque Roses Candle
I’m starting my list of the best Diptyque candles with the delightful Roses for a reason. This isn’t your grandma’s average rose scent — it’s a modern, refreshing take on the classic.
With notes of freshly cut roses, this is one of those home fragrances that’s like having a bouquet in my home without the hassle of replacing wilted blooms.
The larger 21 oz version of the Roses candle comes in a gorgeous petal pink jar that’s worth the aesthetics alone — it doubles up as a dramatic centerpiece in my living room!
Diptyque Baies Candle
Coming in at number two on the list of the best Diptyque candles is the ever-popular Baies (Berries), which is less intensely floral than Roses.
Instead, this Diptyque perfume combines the fresh, fruity aroma of blackcurrant leaves with the delicate notes of Bulgarian roses without the latter overwhelming the former.
In short, the Baies candle balances sweetness and earthiness perfectly and will make any room feel inviting.
I love lighting it up when I want to feel like I’m strolling through a lush, fragrant garden — and not stuck behind the desk chasing some crazy deadline!
Plus, it’s the perfect gift for candle lovers any time of year, as everyone seems to love it!
Diptyque Ambre Candle
I absolutely adore the warm and inviting Ambre (Amber) candle. The rich, velvety scent, featuring notes of wood, vetiver, and patchouli, creates an atmosphere of pure relaxation.
It’s perfect for unwinding after a long day or setting the mood for a chill night with friends.
Diptyque Mimosa Candle
For a light, cheerful scent that’s perfect for brightening up any room, Mimosa is my go-to from the herbarium of scents that is Diptyque!
Its sunny, floral, powdery fragrance features notes of sweet mimosa flowers, underlined with hints of honey, which has me dreaming of warm, breezy days all year. It’s like walking under a covering of sunny mimosas while sipping Aperol Spritz on a warm, languid summer evening as the stars start to come out and the night takes hold.
Diptyque Jasmin Candle
Jasmin (Jasmine) is an unabashedly sensual and intoxicating candle. Its lush, heady fragrance of jasmine flowers transports me to a sultry, moonlit garden where the air is heavy with the scent of blooming petals.
That’s why Diptyque Jasmin is my go-to for romantic evenings or when I want to add a touch of seduction to my space. Its sophisticated and alluring scent never fails to captivate.
PS: The scent of jasmine is also scientifically proven to calm anxiety and soothe depression, so this is the candle I always turn to on manic days. And since friends know how much this one means to me, I have an ever-growing stack of small candles in this scent all over my house!
Diptyque Vanille Candle
If you’re a fan of sweet, gourmand home fragrances, then Vanille is the candle for you.
The rich, warm aroma of dense, precious vanilla pods combined with the spice’s smoky and leathery accents fills my home with the most delicious scent.
It’s just like walking into a bakery without the added calories!
Diptyque Eucalyptus
And then I have Eucalyptus — a refreshing, invigorating scent perfect for revitalizing my senses.
With its crisp, clean notes of eucalyptus leaves underlined by a touch of camphorated notes, this candle is ideal for those days when I need a little pick-me-up.
This makes it perfect for a home office or any space where you need a burst of energy — it will help you stay focused and alert. Diptyque’s Eucalyptus is the one you will find me burning the most when I am chasing a crazy deadline!
Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Candle
This iconic Diptyque scent is a tribute to the brand’s first boutique on 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. It’s the epitome of elegance with a complex blend of woodsy, spicy, and green notes. Light it up and get instantly transported to the streets of Paris!
Although, I have to say that the new jar is a bit disappointing. While the opaline glass with tone-on-tone hues does glow beautifully, there will always be a special place in my heart for the original hand-crafted vessel in white biscuit porcelain.
There was something so tactile about the porcelain vessel made entirely by hand by a legendary manufacturer.
The original novel vessel is still available in 10.5 oz and 21 oz versions of the 34 Boulevard Saint Germain candle versions. However, that size (and cost) is a tad too much — even for luxury candles (though I won’t decline if someone wants to gift it to me!)
Diptyque Aubépine Candle
Aubépine (Hawthorn) is the epitome of springtime bliss and one of my favorite scents from the world of Diptyque. The delicate floral scent of hawthorn blossoms mingles with hints of green leaves and flowery rose accents, creating a gentle and uplifting fragrance.
When I light the Aubépine candle, I feel as if I’m taking a leisurely stroll through a blooming garden, reveling in the beauty of nature. It’s a sweet, tender scent that brings a touch of whimsy to any room.
Historial trivia: Aubépine, a unique scent, is one of the first three Diptyque candles ever created. The other two were Thé (Tea) and Cannelle (Cinnamon).
Diptyque Santal Candle
I have a soft spot for warm, woody fragrance, and Santal (Sandalwood) is no exception.
This candle combines sandalwood’s rich, velvety aroma with earthy undertones and a touch of sweet vanilla. The result is a grounding and luxurious scent, perfect for cozying up with a good book or relaxing with a glass of wine.
The Diptyque Santal candle is my top pick for creating an inviting atmosphere for friends or cooling down the room for long afternoons at work. And it’s another non-divisive scent that makes for a great gift!
Diptyque Cyprés
I can’t even begin to describe my love affair with Cyprés (Cypress) — one of the best Diptyque candle scents ever. The moment I light this candle, I’m instantly transported to a Mediterranean forest filled with fresh, earthy scents of cypress trees and aromatic herbs.
It’s like being on a dreamy vacation, basking in the warmth of the midday sun and enjoying a gentle breeze.
Cyprés is the perfect candle for creating an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation, making it my go-to home fragrance for unwinding after a long day.
Diptyque Figuier
Figuier (Fig Tree) is my go-to candle when longing for Mediterranean summer months spent on the Riviera.
It captures the essence of a sun-drenched fig tree with its green leaves, fruity figs, and warm, woody bark. The scent is fresh and uplifting, making it the perfect choice for brightening any room.
In short, this one’s like a vacation in a jar, minus the sunburn!
Diptyque Feu de Bois Candle
There’s a reason Feu de Bois comes up high on every list of the best Diptyque candles — or any candles, for that matter!
Translating as “wood fire” or “fire crackles” in English, Diptyque’s Feu de Bois is the ultimate candle for creating a cozy ambiance. Its smoky, woodsy scent with hints of burning embers makes me feel like I’m snuggled up by a roaring fire — even if I don’t have a fireplace.
It’s the ultimate hygge experience in a jar — a signature scent for the colder months!
PS: Feu de Bois was my first Diptyque candle and the one that converted me to the maison.
Diptyque Tubéreuse
If you’re a fan of floral scents like me, then Tubéreuse (Tuberose) is the candle for you. This intoxicating scent showcases the heady fragrance of tuberose, a white flower known for its sweet and captivating aroma.
With its powerful, seductive fragrance, this candle is my must-have for those romantic nights. Light it up and watch the sparks fly!
PS: If you are buying the Diptyque Tubéreuse candle, check out the ocean blue limited edition version, which doubles up as the perfect home decor accent.
Diptyque Feuille de Lavande Candle
I couldn’t resist including this heavenly candle in my list. Feuille de Lavande (Lavender Leaf) captures the beautiful scents of a dreamy lavender field with its calming and soothing fragrance.
The candle combines the floral, herbal notes of lavender with a hint of soft sweetness, making it the perfect choice for relaxation and self-care.
Lavande is my little sanctuary, and I can’t imagine a world without it.
Diptyque Verveine
Last but not least on my list of the best Diptyque candles is Verveine, a zesty, uplifting scent that combines the citrusy aroma of verbena leaves with a hint of freshly cut grass.
One of the best scented candles, this one is perfect for creating a bright, revitalizing atmosphere in any room.
So there you have it — the 16 best Diptyque candles for bringing an enchanting atmosphere to any space.
I hope this list inspires you to try some amazing scents and maybe even find a new favorite!
