These crazy times have taught me the importance of being able to create my own comfort zone.
A soothing, comforting cocoon that feels like mom’s hugs.
A protective shield that feels like dad is holding me tight and safe.
A little corner of the universe, where I can retreat and heal.
And the long lockdown have given me time to figure out what works for me. A comfort zone, after all, is different for everyone. This is what mine looks like right now:
I love candles even on “normal” days. Not only do I love beautiful fragranced rooms, they also help me transition between moods and energy levels. For example, there will be a mint one on my work table to amp me up, while a lavender scented one helps me unwind at night. Right now, in the absence of being able to travel, I am reliving various much-loved destinations through their olfactory memories.
This Beverley Hills one from Diptyque is on constant rotation, as is their Paris version… both remind me so much of places that I call home!
I’ve been using this on my skin for a while but only recently started taking it as an ingestible. With 1000 mg of broad spectrum CBD, it truly helps my anxiety issues. And no, it doesn’t leave me buzzed or even a little bit high… just calmer, more relaxed, more able to handle the situation. Could Lord Jones please find a way to pour this over my entire life now?
Olly Sleep Gummies
I seriously hope the lockdown lifts before I run out of my Olly stash because life without these will be full of very long nights. I’ve always had sleep problems, which have become so much worse right now. And this unique blend of melatonin, herbs and botanicals ROCKS!
What makes them better than other melatonin stuff that I’ve tried and not loved? They don’t give me crazy dreams and there’s no grogginess in the mornings.
Tell me, what’s in YOUR comfort zone? We could all use the ideas.
