Speaking of the Oscars, it was undoubtedly Anne Hathaway who truly stole the show in the looks department. The porcelain skin and dramatic berry-tinted lips perfectly complemented the hostess’ tomato-red Valentino gown (just one of the eight changes that she pulled off for the event!), making this the most talked-about getup of the ceremony. Thankfully, makeup artist Kate Lee religiously documented the products and procedure, so you can attempt it for your next party:
– Anne’s cheeks were dusted with Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Fandango, while Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium was brought in to define the cheekbones.
– The eyes were played up with Bobbi Brown Long Wearing Gel Liner in Black Ink on the lash lines; this was followed with Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in Truth to define the sockets.
– Finally, Kate dressed Anne’s lips with Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Rivoli, then powdered over the lipstick to make it look matte (this last step, let me point out, is going to be the hottest makeup trend for Summer 2011!).
