You know how it is to get a MAMMOTH zit right in the middle of your forehead? On your wedding day? Or graduation day? One that refuses to subside, is spotlight-red and refuses to stay hidden despite a zillion layers of concealer? Now, add to this the worst kind of migraine you’ve ever had – that pulsating, throbbing headache that can be felt right down to your toes and makes it impossible to look at anything that emits light. Mix in a spat with your very best friend. Then bring in a couple of bosses who make Miranda Priestly look like an angel and have them preside over a project that’s the main theme of your current nightmares. Oh! And also let’s have a gorgeous new Bottega Veneta tote that gets stained with random splotches of hair dye that will not go away. Ever.
So, how are you feeling now? Like you want to curl into a tiny little ball and hide under the darkest corner of the bed? That’s how I’ve been feeling this last week, ever since The Beauty Gypsy shattered into a thousand tiny pieces, distorting its own layout, rendering everything unreadable and making all the pictures vanish. Among other things. I still don’t know what happened. All I know is that one day the traffic suddenly went up 10-fold. Which is good. Then the server crashed. Which is very, very bad. And, just at this fortuitous time, I decided to upgrade the blog’s software – having no clue about what was happening behind the scenes – and that’s when the site decided to throw a major shit fit and go into a lifeless coma.
After spending literally 24 hours a day, every day, trying to get things back up and running – a time when my face threw it’s own tantrum with stress spots and flaky patches, my BFF stopped talking to me after I rejected about 300 of her phone calls, and all my other projects had to be put on hold – I decided it was time to call in the cavalry. Thankfully, the genius people over at Webdigia (if you are looking for someone to maintain your blog/website, I can’t recommend them enough!) managed to sort out most of the issues literally overnight and the blog is back up and functional. However, many of the images are still missing, the keywords have gone to blog heaven and there are zillions of other nuts and bolts that are still to be put back in place. But hopefully, I should be able to start posting again now. Please let me know if you can see this post clearly and bear with the freakiness for a couple more days. I promise that The Beauty Gypsy will be back – bigger and better and faster – in no time at all!
Till then, why don’t you stop over on our Facebook page? It’s all warm and cozy and smells like cinnamon out there!
PS: Yes, the Bottega thing also happened. Anyone knows how to get hair dye stains out of a brand new orange coloured Bottega? Help!!!!
