I have been receiving A LOT of messages asking for my honest take on Victoria Beckham Beauty. And I have to say, as someone who never even got onto the Spice Girls bandwagon, I am still impressed so far. Not for the celeb quotient but for the performance of the products.
The ones I have been using the most have been the Lip Definer and the Bitten Lip Tint, so let’s start there.
What’s special about the Victoria Beckham Beauty Lip Definers? Well, they are just the perfect shades of nude (six in all – my favorite is the rosy brown No. 4), go on smooth, don’t flake or feather & can be used to create either the most defined lip line or fill in the lips completely as they are both precise & absolutely tug-free. Oh, and they are also waterproof, so they stay on for a good 4-5 hours.
You will often find me wearing just the Lip Definer during the daytime. It’s the perfect nude – basic but essential, like finding the perfect foundation. It makes for a polished, elevated look when you don’t want to look too made up.
For a more dressed up daytime look, I will top it up with the Bitten Lip Tint. Or a clear gloss, depending on how deep I want to go. And for the night, it’s used to define my lips when I want to wear a deeper color, to avoid feathering.
Which brings me to the Victoria Beckham Beauty Bitten Bitten Lip Tint – a gel-like tinted gloss, which comes in one universal shade called Bisou (French for “kiss”!). Though VB describes it as a rosy shade, I find it veers a bit darker, more wine-hued. And a fine wine at that!
It’s like a sheer veil of non-sticky color on your lips. I wear it on its own as a very light, just-there gloss, on top of the Lip Definer for that polished-yet-slightly-undone look that Victoria Beckham sports so effortlessly. And even on top of a lipstick at night if I want to add a bit of drama. It’s non-sticky, super-hydrating (hello squalene & hyaluronic acid!) & leaves my lips feeling plump and smooth.
My only grouse? They need to launch more shades!!!!
And don’t get me started on the packaging. I am not even talking about the gorgeousness of the tortoiseshell patterned tubes that feel luxe and weighty. What impresses me is that besides the clean ingredients, there has also been a lot of thought that has gone into the sustainability factor.
The carton and shipping case are 100% recyclable, the cotton pouch is reusable (mine are used as jewellery pouches) and even the packing foam is non-GMO biodegradable cornstarch, which can be dissolved in water right in your own basin. Good job, Victoria Beckham!
So, tell me, do you love a nude look? Or are you more into bright lips?
